Telluride Update

Howdy All, things are going well here on the ski trip. It took awhile to get the ski legs back, I fell less than 50 feet from where I first put on my skis and then "yard sale'd" on my first run, but once I got them back it's been great skiing. The weather has been fantastic, was able to get the second chair up the hill on day one so I had groomed slopes with fresh powder on top.

Here's a map of the Mountain  for those of you curious what I'm skiing

This is from the top of Prospect Express, lift 12,  sun coming up over Palmyra Peak

The view looking to the Prospect Bowl and more of the San Juan Range

Day 2 was a bit  less optimum skiing conditions, though I did get a later start to the day of skiing, the runs off of Sunshine and Prospect weren't groomed and were well worn so I moved to Lift 4, Village Express, and went down Misty Maiden, Boomerang, etc. a couple of times all and a solid day! I've avoided any major injuries Just chapped lips and a bit of a sunburn.

May try to squeeze in one more post before I leave, I may not, we'll see.

Spontaneous Travel Update!

I decided, some what on a whim, these last few weeks to vacation myself to Telluride to get some much needed RnR. As such I felt that now was as good a time as any to revisit my travel blog and update anyone that would care on what I'm up to here in Telluride. So, yeah...enjoy, or don't, I'm just doing this for writing practice and fun.

I flew out of San Antonio international this morning to Houston's  Bush Intercontinental with nothing but a short 2 hour layover. This gave me enough time to switch terminals, grab some reading material, grab a bite from Whataburger in the terminal. Houston had low visibility this morning so flights were being delayed and scrambled all over the place; some how I avoided this both of my flights! The flight from Houston to Montrose was very smooth and uneventful.

The exciting bit, is that I finally had it here to The Peaks! There is great powder falling on the Mountain Village side of Telluride, which can only mean that there is, hopefully, great powder up top on the Mountain. Not much going on today...got my room (pics are below) and just getting my ski rentals all lined up and then grabbing a bite to eat! I'll update ya'll tomorrow w/ some pics from the slopes!
